Early spread of industrialization
For half a century industrialization was only taking place in Great Britain
Aware of their head start, they did not allow the export of machinery, techniques, or skilled workers
Britain's monopoly did not last long due to businessmen selling products to gain a profit
European and North American businessmen did not hesitate to bribe or kidnap skilled workers or steal machinery out of Britain
By the mid 19th century industrialization had spread to France, Germany, Belgium, and the United States
Some of the earliest production was coal, iron, textile, and glass from Belgium
In the mid 19th century the same had happened for the French
A boom in Railroad construction stimulated economic development
Originally production in Germany was slow but after awhile is turned very successful
The United States had a ton of land but not enough laborers or money to build big enterprises
Then many migrants from Europe helped them out
Started in 1820's when they built the cotton industry
In the 1870's they started producing shoes, tools, and handguns
By 1900 they were an economic powerhouse and started to spill over in Canada

Industrial capitalism
Cotton textiles were the major factory made product during the early stages of industrialization
With Factories they could start to mass produce products
Eli Whitney created the cotton gin and invented the interchangeable parts technique
This idea allowed less skilled workers to produce the products just as effectively as skilled workers
In 1913 Henry Ford improved manufacturing when he introduced the assembly line to automobile production
This improved building time dramatically
Large private corporations were being created at this time that were being funded by individuals who owned stock of the company
When a corporation flourished the individuals would be getting a lot of money
If a corporation went bankrupt the individuals were protected
For this reason corporations were very attractive for investors
